CPST Training – Gander, NL

Help parents and caregivers choose and use car seats and booster seats safely.
Dates: July 7, 8, 9, 10 – 2026 (Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri)
Times: 8:30am-4:30pm every day
Course fee: $300

The Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) training course takes place over 4 days and includes classroom instruction, demonstrations, hands-on practice, multiple-choice knowledge checks and a practical exam in the form of a public car seat check clinic.
With this training you can:
– Plan a community seat check event
– Give a booster seat presentation at your local school or community centre
– Answer car seat questions for a parenting or prenatal class
– Connect with local law enforcement to plan a roadside check
– Meet with parents and caregivers for one-on-one to support
– Provide a workshop for your staff
This fee includes certification with the Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada for 3 years, a printed copy of the manual and all supplies.
The cost for this workshop is $ 300 to offset costs.
This course is offered as a part of injury prevention programming through Child Safety Link – with funding from the province of Newfoundland & Labrador.
