The Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) training course takes place over 4 days and includes classroom instruction, demonstrations, hands-on practice, multiple-choice knowledge checks and a practical exam in the form of a public car seat check clinic.
With this training you can:
– Plan a community seat check event
– Give a booster seat presentation at your local school or community centre
– Answer car seat questions for a parenting or prenatal class
– Connect with local law enforcement to plan a roadside check
– Meet with parents and caregivers for one-on-one seat check appointments
– Provide a workshop for your staff
The cost for this course is $100 thanks to funding from the province of Nova Scotia. This fee includes certification with the Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada for 3 years, a printed copy of the manual and all supplies.
