DESCRIPTION:CPST recertification Course:\n\n\nRegister here: https://forms.gle/oZSnphFExDqdaJJ69\n\n __________________________________________________\n\n\nThis is a hybrid online/in-person re-certification option for existing CPSTs who have had their certification expire in the past year\, or for CPSTs with soon to be expiring certifications who would like more support recertifying.\n\n\nThis course involves:\n\n\n\n– Online\, self-directed learning modules that will be sent to you\n– Two live\, online training sessions over zoom with a CPST Instructor\n– In-person car-seat check event where an instructor will assess your practical skills\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation: Online\, with in-person clinic options available in:\n– Saint-Hyacinthe\, QC\n– Hamilton\, ON\n– Halifax\, NS\n– Charlottetown\, PE\n– there may be additional location options with individual local instructors across the country (the recertification candidate must help to arrange in-person sessions for themselves)\n\n\n\n\nDates: online options April 7th\, 8th\, April 10th\, 13th\, 14th\n\n\n\n\nAll in-person supervised car seat checks must be completed within 1 month of the final online session.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe cost for this course is $115*\n\nThis fee includes certification with the Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada for 3 years\, a digital copy of the manual and all clinic supplies.\n\n\n* If you are involved with Child Safety Link and/or IWK the cost for this course will be $75*

DESCRIPTION:Help parents and caregivers choose and use car seats and booster seats safely. \n\nHalifax\, NS (Spryfield)\nDates: April 13\, 14\, 15\, 16 – 2026 (Mon-Thurs)\nTimes: 9:00am-4:00pm every day\nCourse fee: $100 Instructor: Katherine Hutka\nWith support from Child Safety Link and Chebucto Family Centre\n\n\n\n\nThe Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) training course takes place over 4 days and includes classroom instruction\, demonstrations\, hands-on practice\, multiple-choice knowledge checks and a practical exam in the form of a public car seat check clinic. \nWith this training you can:\n– Plan a community seat check event\n– Give a booster seat presentation at your local school or community centre\n– Answer car seat questions for a parenting or prenatal class\n– Connect with local law enforcement to plan a roadside check\n– Meet with parents and caregivers for one-on-one to support\n– Provide a workshop for your staff \nThis fee includes certification with the Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada for 3 years\, a printed copy of the manual and all supplies.\nThe cost for this workshop is $100 to offset costs. \nThis course is offered as a part of injury prevention programming through Child Safety Link – with funding from the province of Nova Scotia. \nApply to register at this link: https://forms.gle/QXmTkdMtD5u6nasg6
