DESCRIPTION:CPST Certification Course in Kingston\, ON \nBecome a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician! \nThe Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) training was developed by the Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada (CPSAC)\, a nationally-recognized\, standardized\, professional training and certification program provided by instructors in all provinces and territories. SEATS for Kids delivers this training in Ottawa and across Eastern and Central Ontario. \nStudents will learn about the various types of restraint systems and stages\, how to install various types of car seats\, and vehicle restraint laws in Canada. Students will also be required to participate in a short car seat clinic with the focus on educating parents and assisting with installation of their child restraint system. \nThe training is being held on June 13\, 14 and 20th. \n  \nVolunteer with SEATS for Kids \nSEATS for Kids is a volunteer-run organization that promotes child passenger safety across Central and Eastern Ontario by delivering car seat clinics\, seminars and attending community events for donations. Our volunteers are passionate about child safety and car seats\, and love to share that knowledge with others. This rate is subsidized by SEATS for Kids through donations to our organization. \n  \nGroup rates \nDiscounted group rates may be available for classes of 10 or more. This rate is subsidized by SEATS for Kids through donations to our organization. \n  \nGroup rates \nDiscounted group rates may be available for classes of 10 or more. Please contact us for more information. \n  \nRefund Policy \nA refund of the full course rate will be issued if your intention to withdraw from the course is received by SEATS for Kids more than 14 days prior to the course start date. This refund will be made in the same manner as it was received within 2 weeks of the receipt of notice.  After this point\, refunds are only issued on an exceptional basis.

SUMMARY:Safe Travel for All Children (STAC) Training
DESCRIPTION:Location: IWK Cineplex\nDates:  Nov 13\, 14\, 2026 (Friday\, Saturday)\n2-day in person training\nTimes: 8:00am-5:00pm\nFee: $250 per accepted participant (no cost for IWK staff)\n \n \n\nThis training will take place at the IWK Health Centre with funding support from the Nova Scotia Dept. of Public Works. \n\n\n\n\n\n“Safe Travel for All Children: Transporting Children with Special Healthcare Needs” is designed to serve as an enrichment training for Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPSTs). This initiative is specifically intended for occupational therapists\, physiotherapists\, medical equipment vendors\, or other health care staff who directly support the safe positioning and transportation needs of infants\, children\, and youth as part of their role. \nThis 2-day course training features lectures and discussions with hands-on exercises including interactions with families. Participants will review medical conditions that can affect restraint selection and have the opportunity to investigate and install adaptive restraint systems for vehicles. The training includes a written exam and proficiency check-offs that evaluate the student’s ability to assess appropriate restraints and to demonstrate proper selection\, use and installation. \nApplication:\nThere are 10 positions available.
