The course involves classroom instruction\, hands-on activities indoors and outside in vehicles\, and ends with a public car seat clinic where caregivers come for in-person support with their car seats and booster seats. \n\nThis training will take place all day on Wednesday April 29th\, Thursday 30th\, Friday May 1st\, and a half-day on Saturday May 2nd 2026 at:\n\n40 Enman Crescent\,\nCharlottetown\, PE\nC1E 1E6\n\n\nCourse Timing: 8:30 – 4:45 Wednesday\, Thursday\, Friday\n\nSaturday – half-day morning car seat clinic 8:30 – 12:30 at CHANCES (77 Upper Prince St. Charlottetown)\n\n\n\nThe cost for this course is $300\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYour CPSAC membership fees for certification (3 years)\, textbook\, and all clinic supplies are included in this cost.\n\n\n\nThis course is not receiving funding from Child Safety Link or any other agency.

DESCRIPTION:The Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) training was developed by the Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada (CPSAC)\, a nationally-recognized\, standardized\, professional training and certification program provided by instructors in all provinces and territories. SEATS for Kids delivers this training in Ottawa and across Eastern and Central Ontario. \nStudents will learn about the various types of restraint systems and stages\, how to install various types of car seats\, and vehicle restraint laws in Canada. Students will also be required to participate in a short car seat clinic with the focus on educating parents and assisting with installation of their child restraint system. \nThe training includes two and a half days in a classroom setting and a 3-4 hour hands-on practical exam at a car seat clinic. (this will usually occur on the afternoon of the 3rd day)

SUMMARY:CPSAC tech training- Ottawa
DESCRIPTION:The Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) training was developed by the Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada (CPSAC)\, a nationally-recognized\, standardized\, professional training and certification program provided by instructors in all provinces and territories. SEATS for Kids delivers this training in Ottawa and across Eastern and Central Ontario. \nStudents will learn about the various types of restraint systems and stages\, how to install various types of car seats\, and vehicle restraint laws in Canada. Students will also be required to participate in a short car seat clinic with the focus on educating parents and assisting with installation of their child restraint system. \nThe training includes two and a half days in a classroom setting and a 3-4 hour hands-on practical exam at a car seat clinic. (this will usually occur on the afternoon of the 3rd day)

DESCRIPTION:The Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) training course is offered through the Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada (CPSAC). This course is well-suited for anyone who works with\, transports\, or cares for children\, including (but not limited to) people in the following fields: \n\nHealthcare\nFamily and birth support professionals\nInjury prevention and health promotion\nFirst responders\nFamily resource centres\, social services agencies\n\nSuccessful completion of the course requires 100% attendance for both the classroom and clinic portions\, with skills assessment by the instructor(s) throughout the course. Successful candidates will receive a professional certificate that is valid for 3 years. \nAbout the CPST Certification Course\nPlease view FAQs here. \nCourse dates and times:\n100% attendance is required for successful completion of this course. Regular short breaks will be offered throughout\, and there will be at least half an hour for lunch. \nWednesday\, February 25 through Saturday\, February 28\, with indoor space for vehicles. 8:30-4:30pm Wed-Fri\, schedule TBA on Saturday. \nThere is last-minute subsidized space available in this course and priority will be given to those who directly work to support families and caregivers.
