DESCRIPTION:Child Passenger Safety Technician Training\nHelp parents and caregivers choose and use car seats and booster seats safely.\n\n\nSydney\, NS\nDates: October 20-23\, 2026 (Tues\, Wed\, Thurs\, Fri)\nTimes: 8:30am-4:30pm\nCourse fee: $150\n \nInstructors: Sheila Poulton and Sheila Cassidy\nWith support from the Cape Breton Family Resource Centre and Child Safety Link \nThe Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) training course takes place over 4 days and includes classroom instruction\, demonstrations\, hands-on practice\, multiple-choice knowledge checks and a practical exam in the form of a public car seat check clinic. \nWith this training you can:\n– Plan a community seat check event\n– Give a booster seat presentation at your local school or community centre\n– Answer car seat questions for a parenting or prenatal class\n– Connect with local law enforcement to plan a roadside check\n– Meet with parents and caregivers for one-on-one to support\n– Provide a workshop for your staff \nThis $150 fee includes certification with the Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada for 3 years\, a printed copy of the manual and all supplies.
